New Zealand's Starship

Post by CRANKPIN » Mon Aug 17, 2015 10:41 pm

ZK-SSH (Starship Hospital) is a Beechcraft King Air 350 operated by Skyline Aviation Ltd for Starship Hospital, New Zealand's largest specialist children's hospital. The aircraft is dedicated to the retrieval of patients from all over New Zealand to Auckland as speedily and comfortably at any time in any conditions. To us she's band new, but was previously N823CF so technically not an 'i' but before delivery to New Zealand was refitted nose to tail with the latest and greatest, so she's pretty close, check out the short video below especially regarding the eye candy of the avionics.

The repaint is still a WIP, I still need a decent photo from below and the top of the fuse is still a bit of a guess. I would appreciate some feedback as it's also my first Milviz and 350 repaint. There'll be a download link below shortly.

"I feel famous!" What a wonderful video, and a lovely livery you've reproduced! 8-)

Thank you, and isn't it great when that line which I think must have been unscripted, makes the whole thing.

It was this livery (she only arrived in country in May) that made me go look for a 'decent' B350 addon and how I found Milviz and the Beech 350i, my first Milviz product and it's made me realise what I've been missing out on. Your model sir, is superb. The detail has left me smiling. The first time I pressed Shift+E and that beautiful door opened, almost jaw dropping. Not that the door opened, more how it fitted perfectly. ShiftE+2 just made me laugh. Great job.
Now speaking of the door, my next/current repaint project has a window in the middle of that door, I notice most don't but some do, any chance a door-window option might appear in the model sometime ?

He must have been one very sick little boy at the time. I'm delighted that the bone-marrow transplant was so obviously successful!

I seriously doubt that a window can be added to the door at this juncture. It is far more complicated a process than one might imagine. :|

Oh I'm very aware that 'just add a window please' is no small task, I've tinkered enough with modelling to know to leave it to the experts  So no sweat, just asking.
