This is the official release of KA350i Version 1.1.40 Beta (V4 + V5) and differs only by the inclusion of the FMS user guide

After some time, I had another very enjoyable flight with the King. Small issues still persist: flightplan text on the MFD is not well spaced - waypoint name and distance text overlap.

They shouldn't. Can you post a screenshot? Its possible that the proper font didn't get installed, especially if the installation was not run as admin.

Steve,

when starting up, the MFD has the message "FMS text incompatible". I always remove the current version before installing an update and I run the updater always with right mouse menu "Run as Administrator".

"FMS text incompatible" is not a bug that is normal operation, it should go away when you enter a flight plan.

It definitely appears you do not have the fonts installed. The fix is relatively easy without doing a full reinstall.

Navigate to : Prepar3D v5( or V4 whatever you are using)\SimObjects\Airplanes\MV_King_Air_350i\Fonts directory using file explorer.

Right click each font in that directory and pick "install" Your displays should look much better.

In rare cases I have seen the fonts not get installed, it seems to be a Windows permissions issue. Regardless once you get the fonts put in it should fix the issue even if you do a reinstall.

Thank you, Steve!

It turned out that none of the 12 KA350i-fonts were installed. PFD and MFD look well formatted now.

Hello friends, I would like to know why there are no more updates to the king air 350i, the last one was in November, thanks

In general, we do not iterate for the sake of it.
Is there something specific you are looking for?

Actually it works very well. One problem I have is trying to get the idle to have the plane sit there or very slowing more. When I taxi my speed is hard to keep it at 20 kts. I set the throttle using MVAMS and no calibration set in FSUIP. In the axis calibration where is a box with 2 red lines. I set the Max reverse on the first one. Idle on the second on, and max power all the way to the end. I don't know what beta is so I ignore it. Max power and reverser work great. If I can file a place where idle keeps the plane from moving forward I think I would be able to control the taxi speed better.

Many turboprop aircraft with beefy engines will accelerate at idle power. Try loading that aircraft with passengers or fuel, or taxi with the throttle levers at Ground Fine (but above the beta range). That'll cause the propeller blades to move and essentially form a flat disc-effect which will slow acceleration during taxi.

If you do not have the ability to control Ground Fine with a lever, do what I do and use a key and tap to reduce the throttle position below idle.

Thanks. I will try that. There is a fine point of idle and reversers so I fine it hard to set that. I will try a key. What I did before with other planes with reverser is use another axis or switch to turn on the reservers and use the throttle for the full ranges of power. But I am having trouble doing that with this aircraft. Most of the time the reversers are not needed so a switch would be nice to use. But I will try the suggestion you posted, thanks

Ok an update. I can now control the aircraft on taxi to keep in under 20kts and the reversers to kick in when I pull back the throttle. Another problem that I fixed was when both throttles were moved together, but not connected to each other, Get different values of thrust. They are much closer now. I was more careful setting up things in the mvs program. This aircraft works so well I might just stick with this one and give up the P180.

Throttle set up is key on this model as the idle and ground fine settings are useful when taxing the real KA. One should be able to taxi and not use the brakes in most conditions, just a combo of idle and over the 1st detent/gate for ground fine. Tight turns can be helped with differential power. Also, make sure your condition levers are in LOW idle.
