Prepar3d v5 Lightning Issues
Hello
I recently upgraded from 4.5 HF3 to v5.1 HF1. Compared to 4.5 the lightning doesn't seem to work properly in v5. I'm not sure if it's only me or others experience the same problem as i do.
First, what i have installed:
- KA350i SP1.2 (newest Version)
- Active Sky P3D
- ORBX Global/Vector/True Earth...
- Enhanced Atmospherics turned Off
- No Custom shaders installed (shader cache cleared before i took the screenshots)
I took 4 separate screenshots from each version. The configuration of the king air is in both version "PARKED". It's the same FPL and WX file for both versions, except i have uninstalled all orbx regions from v4 due to disk space.
Screenshots:
- vXBatteryOnDefault (Only Battery turned on/Lights are default)
- vXExPwrGenTiesClosed (With external Power and GenTies Closed/Lights are default)
- vXExPwrGenTiesOpen (With external Power and GenTies Open/Lights are default)
- vXExPwr6StepsFlood4StepsIndirect (With external Power and GenTies Closed, Pilot/Copilot Overhead Flood light turned 6 steps up, Instr Indirect turned 4 steps up)
There clearly seems to be a difference in both versions. I know many of the default shaders have changed from v4 to v5. I have also attached my lightning settings for each version. If you need further informations, let me know.
Thx for your help & Kind Regards

Here is another very good comparsion. Taken at night, both flood lights and the indirect instrument lights are turned full on.
For example the entire upper panel is still dark comapred to v4.

Re: Prepar3d v5 Lightning Issues
The textures are exactly the same between V4 and V5 except for some chrome bits. As to why the lighting and textures are way darker in V5 we were never able to get an answer from LM. Regardless all the textures aren't getting redone for V5.
