MD530 Latest build (fixes elevator trim) 190723

Here's is the link to a new installer that addresses the trim problem and adds a Force Trim option for the 530:

http://www.milviz.com/Online_products/P ... 190723.zip

Also, the missing wire cutters in P3D will now appear.

Please test this out and if all is well this will be the new standard.

To use the new force trim option use the AMS and click on the new "Controls" section for the 530, and assign a key or button to the force trim trigger.

When you are in the cockpit, you must enable the force trim by using the two previously unused switches labelled OVSPD TEST and FAULT TEST. (picture below.) The one on the left turns on the force trim system when in the Up position. The one on the right enables the force trim to work with the rudder too when UP.

With a key assigned in AMS and both switches up, a press on the force trim button will make the current cyclic and rudder petal settings the new center point. Thus as soon as you press force trim, return the joystick (and rudder if you have that switch up) to the neutral position. The helicopter should retain its current trim. You can use force trim as often as you'd like.

In case you are unfamiliar with it: Force Trim is not an autopilot! Be sure the helicopter is in a stable condition when you push the button. If it's rotating or banking, you'll simply lock in that trend and have to fight it. (This is how it really works, it takes some getting used to.)

This can take a great deal of the work out of flying. The real MD530 did not have a force trim, we're adding it as a optional "quality of life" enhancement.

Trim checks good and understand why it has been incorporated. I do have flashing wire cutters while panning in all views, P3Dv4.2.

Hello,

Just loaded 180709 and now have flashing wire cutters on all models. Running P3DV4.3. Uninstalled and reinstalled aircraft. No change, all versions have flashing top and bottom wire cutters. It doesn't seem to matter if in MVAMS the wire cutter box is checked or not....same problem. Was considering going back to previous build of MD530 but wanted to stay up to date and wanted to try out the new auto trim.

Any ideas guys?
Thanks
Dean

We're on it. Obviously this isn't such an isolated problem. Unfortunately they are rock solid and don't flash for us, so we're fishing around for a solution.

Flashing wirecutters here as well. Latest 4.3 build.

Also, for me, force trim is difficult to use; it seems to wander regardless of how close I get the 530 pitch/yaw to stable.
Tried switching on/off while in flight etc. but no joy.
Not a biggie. There's an helo autopilot out there I tried a while back but had an odd anomaly. Once set, it would have ~2-3 degree roll built in which resulted in the helo flying forward at this odd angle. Developer said there was nothing that could be done.

Anyway, love your AC, I have all of them. It's a treat being able to fly art :D

Hey guys, just got the 530 installed and all works OK except for no response when pulling back in the cyclic. Currently assigned to the Y axis on my Warthog and pull forward or back I get nothing. When I push all the way forward I DO get a weird "jolt" where the cyclic will quickly move full forward then back to center in a micro second.

I tried swapping axis so it was on the lateral X Axis, same issue. Installed FSUIPC (new pc install and just getting P3D installed again) and no difference.

OK found that the issue was with the Force Trim. For some reason that had been set on a clean install.
