Dll crash

Post by Panny » Sun Apr 02, 2017 11:57 am

Hello,
For some reason with the F-100D the instant I attempt to switch on the gunsight P3D crashes.
The instant it crashes is when I set the gunsight to either manual or sight and radar.
P3D claims that the error is because of MV_F100D_Sys.dll. Is there anything I can do?
I am using P3D V3.4.22
Thanks,
Peter

Is this a recent install? Have you ever had the gunsight functional on your system/sim?

My suspicion is that you do not have a required library on your system - possibly the Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable x86 (this item can be checked by looking at your installed programs under you Windows Control Panel). You specifically need the 2010 version. Multiple versions (e.g. 2008, 2012, 2013..) may co-exist on your system and having a later version in lieu of this version does not work. Same is true for the DX10 library.

A set of required libraries/limitations are listed on Pages 6 and 7 of the F-100D user Guide, including download links/location for getting the required line-up. Please review the list and confirm your system is appropriately kitted out.

Might not be the libraries Brian. May have to double check that the gunsight rendering thread isn't being called before the GDI+ brushes/pens are created. I should have put that protection in before I sent it to you...

I uninstalled the C++ 2010 programs and reinstalled the one recommended according to the manual.
Issue still stands.
Whether it helps or not, once I set the sight to sight & radar having put the brightness up P3D instantly crashes. It's not like it pauses for a second. It gives up instantly.

Agreed Jon, but I've never seen an issue with that dll so far, that wasn't due to improper library. So that is my first suspect.

Jonathan, sent you a response with what happened.
So I recently upgraded my CPU and had a fresh install of P3D, so that is the only difference frankly.
