Trim

Post by N1RB » Fri Dec 18, 2015 8:07 pm

The T38A-ADV is a great plane. My problem is when I push the trim button the only time I get a green light is with full flaps. When I go back to sixty degrees for take-off the trim light will not come on. I tried all kinds of combinations but the only one is full flaps. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Have you tried using the mouse scroll wheel while the cursor is on the T/O trim button?

Errr...I am a bit confused :? . What do yo mean by:
"When I go back to sixty degrees for take-off the trim light will not come on"
...??

Anyway
The sequence should be like this:

- Flaps set to HALF (60%=27deg ;) )
- Wait until the flaps position is steady
- Push T/O button (check the stick is moving back) until green light is ON (=> make sure you are actually clicking the VC button)

Do not apply any other trim action in the meanwhile.

That bugged me yesterday till I figured out I had to scroll the mousewheel.
Left clicking the button moves the button but not the trim system. Scrolling the wheel keeps the button pressed and sets take off trim. Left click after the light lits up brings the button out of the depressed position.
Not so intuitive to me. Why not holding the button with left click and releasing it after the light comes on?

I'm using the T-38 adv with p3dv4 which I re-installed lately.

I believe the button should only release if you move the mouse or release the left button.
