DHC-2: Some gauges behave not as expected...

Post by AndreasB » Mon Sep 28, 2020 12:26 pm

Hi folks,
I am a proud new user of the DHC-2, which I purchased via ORBX Central, Version 17.12.29.
I run p3d v4.5.14.34698.

The bird's engine starts up nicely (Ctrl-E, not via the starter switch, but maybe I miss pumping the wobble enough?),
but then, with BAT, ALT (and RADIOS) powered some gauges behave not as expected:

1. The manifold pressure drops slowly from 30 (normal in off) to minimum 10 PSI.
2. RPM does not react on propeller pitch, nor does Mixture (except in idle cut-off, which lets the engine die).
3. Oil/Fuel/Oil Temp gauges show only small amounts, but drop to zero in flight
4. Cyl. head temp remains zero entirely.

Since the gauges are not simply dead but show values as described above,
I fear that I miss somethink like opening a valve etc.

What's going on?

I downloaded the sim again with Avira AV off (as implied in the Milviz support), UAC is disabled, I run the sim as admin, p3d not in AV scanning, distributables are all available on my machine, DX11 ok (for PMDG), SIMconnect started, ...

Thanks in advance,
Andreas

Strange. Have you tried opening MVAMS (as admin) and set a cold /dark state and saved it? I can watch the cylinder head temp go up to about 225C. Manifold pressure goes up and down with throttle movements here on my end. Are you loading aircraft from the scenario setup screen?

Yes, cold & dark.
The gauges behave as described.

I even thought that I have refill oil, but fuel flow is also not visible,
but fuel is available, i.e. I can fly.

The manifold pressure is correct normal pressure with the engine off.
But dropping to 10, i.e. minimum is strange, also in the air...

Support forums. Sounds like XMLTools isn't installed properly.

Correct.
Now it works -- except Ignition: The OFF position I cannot set.
