AP master switch
The KAP140 manual states:
Standard captured Events:
- AP button = AP_MASTER (default Z key- Hold for engage)
I am trying to turn off the autopilot, using the Z key, but that does not work..
Am I misreading the manual?

Re: AP master switch
Let me be more specific.
I can turn on the autopilot by holding down the Z key. Check.
I can turn off the autopilot by pressing the Z key, if the autopilot is in HDG mode. Check.
If the autopilot is in NAV mode, however, after pushing the Z key, the display turns to the off position, but the autopilot is still steering the plane.

Bert,If the autopilot is in NAV mode, however, after pushing the Z key, the display turns to the off position, but the autopilot is still steering the plane.
I cannot reproduce that. AP turns off normally in any mode, included NAV.
Could you bring more info? for example, were you in ALT mode or VS mode? , etc.
Thanks

Re: AP master switch
OK - this is my standard circuit for any new airplane that I try..
KTPA - RNAV 01L approach via PIE. Approach loaded and active in the GTN 750.
Take off from KTPA, climb to 2000 ft AGL and fly the pattern, using NAV / ALT mode on the autopilot.
Any time now, you can push the Z key, the autopilot display reverts to its startup indication,
but the autopilot continues to fly the pattern.
Alternately, if you fly it right up to the landing in APR mode (LPV guidance) and hit Z
at 300 feet AGL, you can land the airplane, but when you taxi off the runway, the ailerons
freeze in the full left position. You can move the yoke, but the ailerons do not follow.
I'll try to track some autopilot variables in the first (NAV) scenario and see if I can provide more details..

Re: AP master switch
One more test...
If I hold down the Z key for disconnect, it actually does totally disconnect.
Or two short pushes same thing.
First push, ALT is disconnected, but NAV and AP master remain on, even though the display goes to its native state.
Second push, NAV and AP master turn off (seen by tracking the key AP variables).
So, if you can have a look at timing parameters for disconnect, that would be good, or I just have to always push the AP disconnect button twice on my yoke to actually disconnect the autopilot..

Re: AP master switch
Hi,
it happend more than twice that i am in approach and disable the AP. The AP-Display shows the deactivation until i noticed - after a moment of shock - that i have no control over the aileron
After i pushed the AP-Disable-Button again, i got back the control over the aileron and could safely land...
I used the assigned-key on my joystick for "AP-Disable".
As far as i tested it, it happens only in VS-Mode when i am in the approache-phase.

Re: AP master switch
I've just improved AP disconnect, allowing single shot on Z key or stick button to disconnect AP in any mode.
Update will be coming on next release.
