External Transfer Switch to transfer fuel from external tanks

Post by rnurse.bc » Tue Aug 11, 2020 1:37 pm

Hi,

I am trying to figure out how to transfer fuel from the external tanks. The External Transfer Switch seems to be inoperative, i cannot click it. How exactly do I transfer fuel from the external tank?

The Tutor feature keeps telling me to 'Select CENTER external transfer for nominal defueling.'

Please advise. Thank you

Hi, have you downloaded the manuals from the product page of our website? It should say in there somewhere I would believe.

I've asked the devs in the meantime as I am not super familiar with this aircraft.

No, there is nothing in there about the external fuel tanks, or the External Fuel Traansfer switch. That switch is completely inorperable, I can't even click it.

So then how do I transfer fuel from the external tanks?

The switch has 3 positions
OUTBD for external tanks under the wings. Mid position is unmarked but that is your internal tanks. CENTER which is, of course, your center tank.

You move the switch UP by Left Clicking it. DOWN by Right Clicking it.

If you have all 3 externals, move the switch to the CENTER position and empty that first. Then move to OUTBD and use those second.

If you have only the tanks under the wings then start at the OUTBD position.

Ok thank you.

But in my p3d, that switch does not have a clickspot. It means that I cannot click it, even if I have one external tank attched in the center of the aircraft. I flew the aircraft and confirmed that the fuel was not draining from the external CENTER tank.

Also, the Tutor was saying to position the Ext Transfer Switch to CENTER for nominal fuel draining.

Is it normal that it does not work at all in my case? Not even a clickspot.

I don't understand what you mean. You stated that on my previous post as well. This is the Support Forum, not so?

Your post was in the General area. It was moved to support.

If you can't click the switch then that's something else. The Devs may have to chime in. Do you have any camera tool like EZDock or something? I believe you may have a conflict of some sort.

The green message is normal and will go away once you make the correct selection. Of course if you can't click the fuel selector it may not go away.

*** EDIT

I Just noticed. The cursor does not change to a hand over that switch but it does move if you Left Click or Right Click. Can you try that? Right over the triangle.

I moved your posts to the proper support section , you were posting in the general product forum. This is for customers to discuss products/repaints etc. :D

Raptor is right, sometimes camera addons can interfere. For instance if your viewpoint is partially pushed into the seat you may not be able to click certain things but you will not see part of the seat in your view. Try moving your viewpoint and see if that helps.

You can see my issue here at around 6:58. I do not have any camera addons installed.

Are you clicking over the triangle?

As I mentioned above, the mouse does not change to a hand.
