Failed to create Render Target
Hi
I just installed the latest update and now when I start the straight float version I get a message
Failed to create Render Target.
The sim stops responding till I click on the OK button two times then the sim is paused
It only seams to effect the floats version
This is in P3D V4 with Win 7
Thanks in advance if you can help

That's a new one , I have to investigate what would cause it and try to duplicate the issue .
Thanks for the report , we will get back you with the results .

Just to note
1/ it only happens so far with the straight float version and not every time
2/ The amphibian version seems fine
3/ If I accept the error box 2 x the simulator is paused.
4/ if I UN-pause the sim it seems to go OK.
5/ Given the above it is certainly not a show stopper.
On another note
When I first bought the sim you helped me with an issue I had with the XMLTools64 not being inserted into the dll.xml file.
From memory it is because I don't have a dill.xml file in the "User/My Name/AppData/Roaming/LockheedMartin/Prepar3D v4" folder. I still don't have this file in that folder.
However I did have the file in "C:/Programme Data/Lockheed Martin / Prepar v4/ " which I manual added the following to.
<Launch.Addon>
<Name>XMLTools64</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
<Path>XMLTools64.dll</Path>
<DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>
<DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>
</Launch.Addon>
Each time I reinstall after an update has been released the installer reports the required dill.xml fill is corrupt or missing, which I ignore as it all seems to work fine
I am just wondering:
1/ if there could be a permanent fix for this.
2/ I am keen to get the soon to be released FG-1D and recently P3D-V4 upgraded F-4E, however, I am a little cautious that I will encounter the same issues.
Thanks in advance if you can help.
Best wishes
Bob

Re: Failed to create Render Target
Anything new on this topic?
I get this message occasionlly with the amphibian.
As mentioned above not a show stopper but would like to know what causes it and how to fix it.
Not sure if any of the beaver functions are affected and I usually go to the trouble of shutting down the sim and restarting when I get the error message.
Thanks,
Robert Gerdes

You certain you aren't using an aircraft with the built in WX?

Does the amphib have the built in WX?

Re: Failed to create Render Target
It definitely sounds like the WX although it may be the cockpit lighting as well. What sort of video card are you running?

That is very odd. It should be able to handle DX11 easily. Please send the panel cfg of the version you are trying to load.

Re: Failed to create Render Target
I'll try to attach it here:
Say's extension cfg not allowed
It's the standard panel.mv530_430 panel.cfg

Re: Failed to create Render Target
You can either zip it or better yet, save as a .txt file
