F-4J/S weapons system questions [Answered]
A couple questions about the F-4J/S weapons system.
1) Is there any documentation anywhere that tells us what all the missile status annunciators mean?
2) What does the CAGED lever do on the left side of the pilots radar display?
3) There are a couple functions that are programmed in the MVAMS. RADAR LOCK, AIR TO AIR, PADLOCK.
What do they do?

Re: F-4J/S weapons system questions
1: See my replies with link to TP manual on other posts.
2: I believe that cages the gunsight reticle.
3: Radar Lock is the same as half action and full action, first press activates half action, second press activates full action, provided cursor and range strobe are correctly located on the target. Air to Air is the auto acquisition mode that uses the boresight or the helmet mounted display to auto lock for sidewinder use. Padlock is a TACPACK function, I'm not entirely certain what it does. I think it might padlock the camera to track an incoming missile.
