N379PM repaint requested

Post by Milivan » Sun Jul 08, 2018 4:59 pm

Hi,
I would appreciate someone could do a repaint of N379PM which I flew with at Ketchekan. It was a unique expereince!
The livery does not seem to be too sophisticated but I have absolutely no experience in doing repaints.

Pics are available here:

Thanks in adavance

I will begin working on the livery this week. I hope to have it done by the weekend if all goes right.

Just letting you know I have created the new folder and default images I will edit to create this livery. However, I was just informed that I will be required to attend military training this weekend (which I thought had been cancelled), so I won't be able to continue work until next week.

I started work on it today. I figured the easiest way to do that repaint is to recolor the bright orange white, the yellow blue, remove the top grey line, and recolor the bottom grey line. I'll need to remove the stripes from the rudder and make them continue outward to the rear. Then I will add the black below the windshield and finally the registration numbers. I'll look into recoloring the floats when all that is completed. This is the first float plane livery I've ever done, so I'm wondering if all the float planes use the same texture. Let me know if you think the shade of white and blue are accurate.

Hi, Jack. Great, white and blue look pretty much accurate, thanks.

Here's the progress I've made so far. The wings are done. Next is to finish up the tail section.

More progress. The tail section is finished except for a few textures I'm having a bit of trouble locating. In the images below, the green circle shows an area I almost forgot to color blue, but I caught it after looking at the image of the real aircraft. The red circle shows the rudder hinge cover. It's supposed to be painted blue, but I can't seem to find it at the moment. It's painted white, so it's probably located in one of the previous texture files I recolored. The yellow square shows another texture I haven't located yet. From what I can tell, it's not in the livery texture folder, so it must be somewhere in one of the the fallback texture folders. Worst case is this part will remain grey, but, according to the real aircraft, it really should be painted white.

Milivan, do you know or have a way to get me a clear image of the label that goes above these lids? The real image shows them have some sort of red label, and I would really like to add those. I'll be painting the lids red, btw, unless you can specify what color they should be. Thanks.

Hi Jack, it's amazing to see this project progressing. I have checked all private pictures but these lids are not shown. Too bad I obviously always got the wrong side of the aircraft.
