PC-6 Propeller

Post by portmann.paedi » Wed Nov 03, 2021 7:43 pm

Hello Milviz Team

Thanks for the beautiful PC-6 :!: . I've been hoping for a Pilatus Porter for MSFS2020 for a long time. It is very well made and flies excellent.
I only noticed one little thing. The propeller doesn't look like the original 4-blade Hartzell that was last used for the PC-6B2-H4 version. The propeller blades are more similar to those of the 3-blade variant. Maybe you can adjust the propeller for Stage 2. If not, that's not a problem, because when the turbine is running, you can't see it ;)

Thank you very much

Patrick Portmann

Ours looks more like this on the ends:

It all depends on what year it was built and what options were ordered, there isn't really a right or wrong.

Edit: I can't find any examples of the squared off 4 blade so you may be correct.

Maybe this?

The 4-blade aluminum propeller was only available at Pilatus from the Hartzell company as shown in the picture above. I think this is most common with the PC-6 variant you made. The other 4-blade propeller is made of mt-propeller and composite. As far as I know, there are not many who have been equipped with it and this type of propeller was not installed by pilatus either.

Just as an idea. How about making the PC-6/B2-H2 version for stage 2 with steam gauges? This older variant of the PC-6 has the rectangular wingtips, a smaller fin on the vertical stabilizer and a 3-blade propeller. This version was and still is used by some armies. When i look at the milviz PC-6 i see details which are from a B2-H2 of the austrian army (http://modeltalking.hobbyart.sk/?p=5718). So the Milviz PC-6 would be more different from the Asobo and FSG PC-6. On the website http://www.pc-6.com there are many infos and pictures of the different variants.

I believe that steam gauges are planned but I can't say when.

It's being actively worked on. No ETA yet.
