Well, to my understanding, the yellow color is correct: from my readings on the pl21 the FMS text on the pfd is green or yellow depending on the nav source (as does the hsi pointer, in a matching color).
Green for left nav source, yellow for the right one.
In normal mode the left pfd will display green text, the first officer's one will display yellow text.
In reversion mode the left pfd will display yellow colors as it takes its nav source from the right...
Well hope this makes sense :)

Thank you for the information but how do you know which pfd we're doing?

The colors are correct. The only thing I can assume is that different installations have different software as seen in the pics posted, as it looks like a jet cockpit.

Hi Colin,
Sorry for the delay, I was travelling...
Your question made me read the docs again and I realized my statements were not fully correct.
I am not a real world pilot, so just enjoying some deep dives into systems docs, and had taken a shortcut here...

The color of the nav info depends on the nav source, that's right. But it's color is green if the source is on the same side (e.g. fms1 or nav1 for the pilot, fms2 or nav2 for the f.o.). It is yellow if the other side is selected (e.g. nav2 for the pilot)

Your pic shows a Fms source without indication if its is fms1 or fms2, so my understanding is: this is the copilot side display for a single fms equipped plane. In this configuration the left side fms info will always be displayed in green, the right side pfd in yellow. There is no reversion possible as it's a single fms...

Sorry for my lack of precision in my previous post, and thanks for the question, it created some interest on these systems again :)

New pic showing the FMS in it's present state.

Yes, we are STILL moving on this.

Looks Fantastic. I fly the real thing and the photo of your pfd is almost dead on. I hope there will be radar and terrain display. With the electronic checklists and chart viewer, this will be the first fsx plane with a paperless cockpit. Great job!!!

The inital implementation we got in the alpha build had the chart viewer (you need to place pdf docs in a specific directory) and electronic checklists. I have also seen terrain on some later preview pics. So I hope all these features will indeed make it in the new pl21 implementation.

Only the radar was not included nor even advertized, so I have no idea if Milviz will surprise us with it now that they code it from scratch, well you never know :)

Krazycolin,

I'm not sure if you heard or not but Rockwell Collin just added to the King Airs PL-21 ADS-B Out, Synthetic Vision, LPV/APV, electronic charts, enhanced maps and XM and ARINC graphical weather capability. Any possibility of including these in the WIP 350i?

I just picked up my KA350 from the avionics shop today and spent a few hours training with the new upgrades and love the improvements. I ordered the Pro Line Fusion with the touchscreen 14" LCD's for my King Air 250. I was close to putting this in the KA350 before I was told of the above upgrades for the PL-21.

Have a great day!
