Hi all,

Here some screenshots of new textures for Beaver exterior. It is NOT render, it is real time preview. Have fun ;)

Those two lights on top of the wings near the wingtips are supposed to be clear/white since they are strobes, not beacons. I've fixed this in the .max file so they will be correct. :ugeek:

Very nice work. Love your choice for the first paint scheme. :)

BTW, besides also having floats, the wing also has skis.

Here's a pic of N5315G with the skis on - https://www.flickr.com/photos/shanair/14069245882

N5412G is the "amphib" of the fleet - https://www.flickr.com/photos/shanair/14069245882

Here's the whole CAP Fleet as of today -

Remember when doing the sound that this beast sounds absolutely nasty!

A quick video my friend took in BC of one departing:

this plane has been in the works for ever, when are you going to complete it? It sure would be nice to have a decent DH-2

Sorry, an all new model being in the works for a year (well, 13 months) isn't "forever". Not by a long shot. Also, being that they have far more modellers than flight dynamics engineers or coders (which is the case at 99% of places), the problem is rarely getting the looks done. :)

I don't think you guys fully grasp what this aircraft will mean to the Canadian Flight Sim community. This is an aircraft as iconic, if not more, iconic than the Arrow. The Beaver is one of Canada's ten most outstanding engineering achievements and ironically there is very little documentation on the aircraft. I've been fortunate enough to read some stories about Beaver pilots in the north but finally got my hands on a book today called "The Immortal Beaver" by Sean Rossiter. It is the most extensive documentary on the Beaver in existence. It is a fantastic read so far, and I highly suggest you have your modelers read it so they can see the weight of the task they are taking on with this project!

Vancouver's Harbour Air Chief Pilot, Bill Pennings has over 10,000 hours on the Beaver and has even flown snow mobiles up north in them, by removing the doors on both sides and letting them hang out of the sides of the aircraft!

I am really looking forward to it, and it has the potential to be the only aircraft I will ever fly in flightsim again if it's done right :)

Best of luck!
