Tanker not flying correctly.

Post by revonav » Tue Feb 19, 2013 12:58 am

Hello

I have installed the F15 right off the site a month ago after re-installing FSX. Then I installed the service pack released some time in FEB 2012. For some reason, the refueling tanker is not flying smooth. Whenever I get close to it, I am not able to connect to it, because it is almost like it is lagging. It's rather hard to explain, but it is flying very skippy and I have tried to fix it, but I can't.

Any advice on what I should do?

Thanks in advance.

well, first off, you borked your installation by installing a fix pack over somehting that is a: already fixed AND b: upgraded.

So, reinstall it again and do not update it.

that may fix your issue but if not... it can be very VERY difficult to hook up with the tanker... I've never been able to fill up completely.

Well originally, I knew that the installer that was on the F15 is the most current. But after having the same problem with that version, I looked for a service pack, and inferred that maybe you guys didn't change the installer and it is required for you to install the service pack over the original installer from the website.

I'll try it again i guess.

I did a clean re-install of the F15 and I am still having this problem. Whenever I get close to the tanker, it starts lagging/flying very skippy to the point where it is impossible to refuel.

are you using the MP version? do you have the map function on? are you using NV? what are your system specs?

Negative on the MP version. Don't know about the map function or NV. I just flipped the nuclear consent shortcut switch then requested the tanker and was on my way because i couldnt wait to try the in flight refueling feature. I'm going to learn how to do everything eventually.

system specs:
EVGA SLI3
Intel i7-930 oc'd 3.8GHz
EVGA GTX 570 oc'd
6gb's OCZ platinum
w7 is running on SSD but FSX is running on a WD black 1TB along with a few other games
Corsair 850w

try turning off the OC on your cpu first.

try using the MP version.

turn off all of the glass in the VC that you're not using... i.e. use the HUD... (you shouldn't be looking down ANYWAY)

I think I know how to solve your problem, since I ran into the exact same thing.

For some reason, the KC-135 seems to exhibit odd behavior at close range when the framerate in FSX isn't steady, so go into the settings menu, lock the framerate at something your PC can maintain easily, and see if that fixes it.

Good catch AZ. I finally remembered this one. If your framerate isnt steady all ai objects (even to the bombs/missiles etc) will go kinda crazy.
