AFN-2 Navigation Instrument Working?

Post by sierranev » Thu Sep 17, 2015 1:14 am

Can the Milviz team or a user verify if the AFN-2 navigation instrument works properly? From what I have read the vertical needle deflection can be used to guide the plane directly to a station, but I can't get it to work as I understand it should. I've tried with various VORs with no success. The horizontal needle seems to work ok. Perhaps I just don't fully understand how it works, in that case I would appreciate any help in that regard.

Thanks

HI. looks like there was no answer to this question. Did you ever work it out ? I am about to post a new topic on this as I too am confused. I'm using NDB frequencies and for me, the vertical needle is erratic but kind of usable, but the vertical needle doesn't do anything, even when I fly past the NDB. I can;t gget any of the knobs to do anything on the radio either. Thought I'd raise this here first before starting a new thread.
