Good news...

Post by Krazycolin » Sun Aug 10, 2014 10:47 pm

Hi all,

We've been working (on the weekends!) to get the SP6 for this one done. We're almost there.

Just have TWO (yes, 2) bugs left...

1) sluggish in the hover

2) can't split the needles in autorotation.

Once we have those two fixed (with the help of Josher55, a real 407 pilot) we will release the new SP.

At that point, we will be starting on the MD530F codebase. (note, only on the weekends)

Mmmm, that's interesting news. I know I'm not a real pilot, but I can't really see what needs fixing, apart from the difference between the "Ready to fly" and "Cold and Dark" starting problems I'm getting.

I hope to see a change log before I install an update.

Great news - so this means we can fly using real weather addons (ASN) following the SP6 update?

You can do it right now too. Never had a serious problem with Bell 407 together with ASN.

The answer is ... probably not with the tough FDE... this is something that we've looked at quite a bit and the only way to do it is to lessen (considerably) the torque. It's an error in FSX. (and P3D).

I'm pleased for you spirit_66, glad it all works as advertised....
Thanks for the information Colin, not quite what I wanted to hear, but I do appreciate your honesty with it. The 407 you've created is a beautiful product to look at, unfortunately I'm using a weather addon - and that's something I want to keep. I know its been a nightmare for you too - and although it's not worked out for me personally, I hope you've not been too disheartened with it all. These things happen and sometimes pushing the boundaries causes unforseen problems, especially in a fast changing FS environment. Good luck with the rest of the portfolio, I'm sure most people would prefer cutting edge development which results in the odd hiccup, over basic modelling and FDE with default FS9 technology! Agreed?

Should be done next week. We're still tweaking the FDE

I figure if there was anything new we would already know about it. But but, any projections now?
