I have to say I am wondering if it is really necessary to disable your joystick in the sim. Surely it is possible to just delete all references to your hardware aside from the keyboard in your controls menu and still have the stick enabled?

Tried that against many people warning me not to do that. The result was, every few weeks, all my control settings in P3D would change when I started the program, and I would have to redo them all. Disabling them in P3D, and no more problems. Anyway, the 407 is flying like a dream now...
