Speedbrake Stuck in Deployed Position
For some reason the speedbrakes on my T-38A ADV will not retract. Anyone else have this problem? I've tried numerous ideas to bring them up after engine start with no luck. This is a new problem that just started the last time I tried to fly the aircraft.

Re: Speedbrake Stuck in Deployed Position
If you are starting from a saved flight, try to create a new flight and see if the problem persists.
Please, report T38 ADV issues in the correct forum.
Thanks

Not starting from a saved flight.... always a new flight. I load the flight with a default FSX aircraft then select the T-38A ADV. Sorry, didn't realize there was a T-38A ADV Support forum. I never got registered for that one. Can you please authorize me in that forum.

Are you using an axis for speedbrakes?. It only supports discrete position commands (toggle ON/OFF)Firecapt32 wrote:Not starting from a saved flight.... always a new flight. Actually, I may have a dead pushbutton on my Sidewinder. I'll check and advise. Might be a hardware issue on my end.

Nope, still stuck in the open position. Is this something simulated with damage our failure? Is there a way to reset all of the aircraft's systems?

Re: Speedbrake Stuck in Deployed Position
If you're using start from cold and dark conditions, try to uncheck that option in the ADV failures menu.
If this does not work, try to reset your controls to default values. I believe the problem could be related to an unexpected speedbrake controls configuration.

Also, make sure the speedbrake failure box is unselected in the failures interface.

Ok, I'll give all those suggestions a try tonight. Thanks.

Re: Speedbrake Stuck in Deployed Position
Ok, I unchecked the Speedbrake Failure Option on the configuration screen and speedbrakes retracted. I guess my next question is why do they stay failed when selected for a random failure? Is there a way to "repair" once it has failed?

Re: Speedbrake Stuck in Deployed Position
If you "check" system failures they will be triggered in two ways:
A) time to failure: The system will fail after X minutes from the flight start
B) failure within time: The system will fail within X minutes
You need to write in the box near the selection box the desired amount of time (X minutes) in either case A or B.
It seems you leave checked option A (or B) with an empty time box = 0 minutes. Basically, each time the sim was started the speedbrake failure was triggered.
Those boxes are intended to generate specific system timed failures. If you want a realistic (and random) failures scenery, all the individual system failures should be unchecked. The failures interface global realism bar will modify all probabilities from failure free to poor maintained aircraft. The bar should stay in the middle in order to get the most realistic flight experience in terms of aircraft / systems reliability.

Re: Speedbrake Stuck in Deployed Position
Should have looked here yesterday.
Long time absence and had the same issue with the speedbrake cause I misunderstood the adv failure configuration panel.
