Our rendition of the Skyraider aims to please even the most demanding and eagle-eyed warbird enthusiast, with thorough and intricate systems simulation, a custom payload manager, accurate sounds, a realistic flight model, and TacPack integration to boot. If flying by the seat of your pants sans-GPS is your forte, you’ll find our simulation to be just the product you’ve been searching for!
We’ve delivered a plentiful assortment of payloads to suit a wide variety of destructive tendencies: we have included rockets such as the HVR, LAU-10 and LAU-68 pods, dumb bombs such as the Mk-82, Mk-82SE, Mk-83 and Mk-84, the Mk-117, and the famous Toilet Bomb. External fuel tanks can also be fitted for longer duration sorties, along with 4 20mm guns embedded into the wings.
It is sometimes said that an aircraft can “carry everything but the kitchen sink”, but the Skyraider did just this, along with a conspicuous sanitation unit which managed to only catch the eyes of the Air Boss as the aircraft left the carrier.
A staple of Milviz products, the Skyraider integrates with out MVAMS utility to better and more efficiently manage your aircraft. Updates can be downloaded from within the app itself rather than navigating to an external site, and the default panel state can be toggled between Cold and Dark and Ready to Fly.
Weapons aren’t weapons if they’re static models, which is why we’ve integrated TacPack into the Skyraider to bring authentic and accurate weapons simulations into the aircraft. Along with weapons simulation, TacPack also allows for carrier operations: simply spawn a TacPack-equipped carrier into the sim, and the Skyraider will be able to trap the arresting gear and utilize the catapults.
Do note that without TacPack installed for your specific Prepar3D version, the weapons loaded onto the wings will be static-only, the guns will not work, and the gunsight will be inoperative.
Vertical Reality Simulations' TacPack software offers a stand-alone top notch weapons and warfare platform for Prepar3D. It is a payware product and is not included with your purchase from Milviz. It is a pre-requisite for using the weapons features of the Milviz Skyraider, but is not required for the operation of any other portion of the aircraft. (Please note: At the time of this release, the TacPack software has not been updated for use in Prepar3D version 5. Please visit the VRS website for any information regarding compatibility of the TacPack software with your simulation platform.)
