Just reading all of the above as I also find the aircraft levels off at FAF. Can someone please explain how to arm APP mode and not just APPR FMS that is displayed when pressing APPR button prior to the GS. Thank you.
Anyone?

Sorry, no one. You can’t arm APP “only”. It will be APP FMS when FMS is the active nav source. Other modes are APP LOCn and APP VORn depending on current nav source as well.

Okay let me explain this a bit more. On other planes you activate APP button and it will follow a vertical navigation down to minimums. This plane does it from the top of the vertical slope (or ILS glide slope) and works well until the FAF marker. It will then level off and wont descend any lower. How do you correctly program it so it follows it down to minimums like other planes. At FAF I currently have to manually take over or pre VS and manually change the descent.

I have explained that in the previous posts.

If there is a GP signal, aircraft will descend right down to the runway.
If there is NOT a GP signal available, aircraft won’t descent below the last altitude constraint (it may or may not coincide with FAF). Pilot is responsible to continue the descent down to the runway.

That's my point, every other plane I use picks up that GP signal (Australian Airports) and continues to minimums. KA350i doesn't. Same airport two different conclusions to the same approach, using same procedures.

Again, In the KA’s PL21 with GP captured (green), aircraft will descent down to the runway. Confirmed.

You just ensure to arm APP before reaching the last constraint (usually the FAF). Otherwise, if the aircraft has already leveled off, it might be possible to capture the GP above the descent path, hence not starting the descent.

I usually arm approach turning base.

That should work, normally taught to arm APPR within 90 degrees of final approach course.
