I've never experienced a jump in performance due to clearing out the shader cache in neither XP nor P3D. But I'm glad it worked out well for you!

I'm sending the MV 350 back into the hangar where it can watch me fly the AFL KA 350 in XP...

This has nothing with "clearing the shader cache" to do.

It simply exhaustes my 4GB video RAM, using around 4080 GB of the total of 4096 GB.
Compared with the A2A Bonanza, which only uses 680 of my 4096 Gb VRAM and looks just as good.

I don´t think that the majority of flight simmers have the latest GPU's.

How about a 2K texture option ?

Current stat leaves the KA350i as a Hangar Queen and money has been wasted so far.
Sorry to sound sour, but its´now 4 month since it´s released and we have not come further to a usable addon :cry:

Hi guys

Something is really going on here with the vram usage. I compared the king air against the 747-8f, 737 NGXu, and the FSL A321. The king air is using at least 3GB more of vram than the other planes.

For each plane i did this:
* Load the plane on the default p3d airport at 11am without any weather
* Waited until the VC fully loaded
* Went outside and waited until the external model and its textures loaded
* Grab a screenshot of the GPU usage using GPU-Z
* Restarted the machine to try with the next plane

Every plane was cold and dark without any system running.

As you can see, it is using at least 3GB more than any other plane. This is with an nvidia 1080-8Gb

Hello Tomas,
I allways insert my route manually using FPLN and DEP/ARR pages. Leg pages for removing some discontinuity, and thats all.
CTD happened just after inserted RPR fix and click in EXEC button.
No changes was made via legs page this time, just used FPLN page and the DEP/ARR.

If direct to one waypoint of Legs,will CTD.

As 1.1.3 is sort of working for me I will stick to it despite all its shortcomings for such a premium addon. But a ‚direct to‘ CTD is nothing I want to deal with when flying online during my limited time.

Wow, the VRAM issue is still there? I thought the point of pulling the first version of the SP was to address the VRAM problem?

Out of frustration I have tangled a bit with the KA350i....

I have tried to convert all 4K textures to 2K, but this has only a small effect on VRAM Usage.

Disabling Trueglass and Reallight reduces VRAM usage from 4080 to 2460 - so a substantial reduction.

I then tried to change the texture sizes within Trueglass and Reallight from 4096x4096 to 2048x2048 and also to 1024x1024.
at 1024x1024 I VRAM usage of 3300, and with 2048x2048 I see VRAM usage at 3830.

Next step is with Reallight at 1024x1024 and Trueglass 2048x2048 which gave a VRAM usage of 3530.
Reallight at 2048x2048 and Trueglass 1024x1024 which gave a VRAM usage of 3860.

Conclusion is that the biggest gain is with Reallight at 1024x1024 and Trueglass 2048x2048.
Overall VRAM usage is offcourse also dependent on weather addons and scenery.

While I do get much better performance with the changes, VRAM usage is still excessive even without Reallight and Trueglass.

Another thing that helps, is to set P3D Texture Resolution to 1024x1024 (I normally use 2048x2048).
Doing this brings VRAM usage down to 2570.

With these changes the KS350i is now flyable, but I really hope they look into this excessive VRAM usage.

I forgot to tell how to reduze Trueglass and Reallight textures...
In both folders (Trueglass and Reallight) there are an xml file for each of them.
In these files You can easily find the find the number 4096. Simple change these to 1024 or 2048.
