how to use the "night sun "?

Post by didborie » Tue Mar 27, 2018 9:06 pm

Dear all,

I perhaps missed something in the documentation but I am not abble to find the knob to switch on nor the buttons to guide the external light called "nigth sun" of your advertising .

it should be possible according to your advertising (extract below):

"While the Cargo Hook, FLIR Camera and the Carry Pod are purely cosmetic options for your helicopter, the Night Sun is completely controllable through key commands"

but how ? which keys ?

someone can help ?

OK, it is not a big issue, it doesn't prevent to fly normally but it could be interesting to know :D

thanks in advance

Didier

it is supposed to be functional , no ?

thanks to everybody who could help

Not a stupid question and if one is installed one would expect the Nightsun to work if coded. I'm not at my cpu now, but have your tried your key commands for the normal searchlight?

Hello Didier , a good question and the reply is we tied the operation into the keyboard command structure .

These keyboard commands can be assigned to hardware controller buttons as well.

Landing Lights switch (on/off) or CTRL+L

Landing Light (tilt down) CTRL+SHIFT+Num Pad 2

Landing Light (tilt left) CTRL+SHIFT+Num Pad 4

Landing Light (tilt right) CTRL+SHIFT+Num Pad 6

Landing Light (tilt up) CTRL+SHIFT+Num Pad 8

Landing Light (center) CTRL+SHIFT+Num Pad 5

OK, thank you all,
yes it work find like this but I will reroute this to the joystick hat switch if it is possible because during a hover it is not really convienient to remove both hands from the cyclic and the colectif ("shift+ctrl+keypad " request both hands !!)
If I can suggest also something, it should be more convenient to reverse the commands : 6 to light on the right side instead of left , 8 to light far instead of close to the helicoptere ( we generaly think as if we were inside the helicoptere, not in front of it) ;))

In fact I even don't thought to try the keyboard before your answer because I was convinced that there was a button inside the cockpit ;((

thank you again aniway

You can bind those keys to hat switch on a joystick in FSX or FSUIPC. Kind of a pain and nose controls only have one hat for looking around.

Thank you, I will try that, It could work because I use the mouse or trackIR5 to look around
