Bobcat avionics switch workaround

Post by mallan157 » Sun Jun 06, 2021 11:45 am

Couldn't see if this has already been tackled so apologies if this is old hat. The inability to use whichever radios are installed when starting from cold due to a lack of an avionics master switch can of course be overcome by using the Ctrl-E start command once you have got things running, but an alternative is to link the avionics to the battery bus so that radios are available as soon as the battery master switch is toggled on. (I use Navstax popups in my T-50 so I can leave the individual radios off until engines are running, so that they are protected from starter spikes. Not sure if the other radios available have their own on/off switches or whether startup spike damage is modelled.)

To make this change find the [electrical] section in the aircraft.cfg file and add this line:-
avionics=2,5,17.0
2 denotes the battery bus, 5 is the max current drawn and 17.0 is the minimum voltage needed.
