T-50 Crashes P3d

Post by davidpf051 » Sat Dec 31, 2016 9:10 pm

Just bought the T-50 and installed on P3D V 3. However, whenever I try to select the T-50, it crashes the program. Tried deleting and reinstalling with no luck. Also tried downloading again and reinstalling with the same result. I have two other Milviz products--F-4J/S and F-100D--running on the same system. No problems with them or any other aircraft. No idea what is going on.

Did you download and install with your av off?

Believe we have two people with a similar problem. Turned off Windows Firewall and Windows Defender and reinstalled. Program still crashes when I select the T-50. Checked my other two Milviz products--F-4J/S and F-100D--and they run with no problems. They were downloaded and installed earlier on the same system with no problems and with Windows Defender running.

Below is the error message I get when I select the T-50. Not terribly informative. Still crashes.

Go to your START button (lower left) in the Search box type EVENT VIEWER When the event viewer opens, on the left side select Windows logs, then Applications

Now in the middle section look for your latest FSX error. Select it, then on the right side select COPY then COPY DETAILS AS TEXT. Come here and reply to this thread and use CTRL-V to paste the error here

Re: T-50 Crashes P3d

The event log flagged MSVCR90.dll as the module causing the problem. The file path indicated it was the x86 version. I downloaded the appropriate Visual C++ version from Microsoft and ran a repair. I also scanned the computer with Microsoft's latest Malicious Software removal tool making sure it scanned the WinSxS folder. It came back clean. Reinstalled the T-50 and tried to select it. The result is below, another program crash again flagging the MSVCR90.dll module. Any ideas?

I ran a check on that offset and dll and it appears to be related to file parsing. Something is preventing your sim from accessing a file that it needs. Are you running your P3D as admin? Right click on it, select properties->Compatibility->Run this program as administrator.

BINGO! That solved the problem. Loads with no problem. Subtle though. Only plane affected. Thank you.

Quick follow up. Problem solved. Thanks and congrats to Milviz on another fine product now that I've had some time in the cockpit. In my view, Milviz and A2A are putting out the best simulations. You can see why the T-50 was used extensively in training. Very stable aircraft and very well behaved. You'd have to be an idiot to get yourself in deep trouble with the T-50. I have the same flickering problem with my Flight 1 GTN 750 others have mentioned and will watch for the fix! Nice job Milviz.
