Weather guage not working

Does your system meet the sims requirements?. If you are using Prepar3d you can verify your version by going to the P3D location, right clicking on the sim1.dll and checking Properties->Details: YES
Did you temporarily disable your anti-virus program during the download process?: YES
Before installing did you disable UAC. (User Account Control)?: YES
Did you install, and are you running the sim as an admin?: YES
Before running the sim did you make sure the FSX/P3D directory is off limits to any AV scanning?: YES
Does your system have the required distributables?: YES
Is your video card DX11 compatible?: YES
If applicable, did disable any FSX to P3D migration tools (like Estonia) before running the sim?: YES
Are you using an aircraft other than a Milviz one as your default aircraft?: YES
Have you installed in the root sim directory?: YES
Do you have the appropriate SimConnect libraries installed?: YES

Aircraft: DHC-2 Beaver
Sim platform: FSX + Acceleration
Operating system: Win7
Version: 171229

Downloaded & Installed MilViz DHC-2 Beaver 171229.exe with Virus software off and using "install with "run with Administrator" option. Installation appears to install with all expect events.

(Using FSX Gold edition (FSXA)) ( Win 7 64 bit)


Upon load of Beaver saved situation I get the following errors:

- Failed to create ASN texture
- Failed to create ASN Shader Resource View

Upon turning on the weather guage I get these additional errors:

- Failed to creat ASN texture
- Failed to create ASN Shader Resource View


Weather guage turns on and does test but does not display weather/ terrain

Any suggestion on what might be wrong?

Please unzip this into your Beaver's panel folder and let me know if you get any other errors. I suspect a video card incompatibility but I will know for certain after this test. What video card are you using by the way?

Using the replacement MV_wx.dll, I get no error messages. the weather gauge loads, and seems to work fine in the test position, but does not display weather or terrain. All worked fine in the Beaver version I replaced. My video card is GTX 295.

How can I get back to the previous version which worked?

I only installed the newest version in hopes that it would solve my lack of instrument lighting problem. I can live with the version I had before this one?

I guess the instrument lighting and Weather gauge problems are due to my older video card?

Very likely. The 295 is a bit low.
