Failure of propeller to feather and stop turning.[Answered]

Post by apmech » Sat Sep 19, 2020 4:44 am

While in flight, I shut down the right engine but the propeller keeps turning. The throttle all the back, mags off, mixture idle cut-off, prop pulled all the way back past the detent and the propeller is still turning. In the feathered position the prop stops rotating but it does not. I'm I missing something?
Thanks, Pat.

P.S. I'm getting a good workout in single-engine out procedures in your twin, which are aerodynamically correct, except the prop does not stop turning.

Hi Pat.

Just to be sure, are you doing what it says on page 24 of the user guide? ( located in the aircraft/manuals folder)

Are you using hardware to control the prop levers?

I am not able to duplicate what you are seeing, the props stop here on my end.

Thank you for your quick response.

Although I read the manual, I forgot to recheck that area.
All my controls and gauges are Logitech (Satitek).

It is cumbersome to use the mouse rather than just simply move the prop control fully aft; but the mouse works to feather the prop as per the manual.

Thanks again, Pat.
