RealLight Initialization Error

Re: RealLight Initialization Error
So i have deleted anything in the texture folders under reallight folders containing more than just [numberical].bmp . On the turbo otter I renamed the 1B.bmp to 18.bmp. All errors gone and lighting (at least in the turbo otter i just tested) seemingly back to normal. Happy puppy over here!Tobus wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2019 5:29 pmJust for my understanding: the errors come from non-numerical filenames under the reallight texture folder.
Finding and removing those negates the errors, and DOES fix the actual lighting missing...
And that for all aircraft impacted:
737-200
Porter
Otter
Turbo Otter
Else....?

I think I need to include that bit of script from the commercial version which wipes the existing install before installing....ricfishner wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2019 6:49 pmThank you Milviz for the quick update here! After the fix my T-38C works like a charm, no errors from real light anymore
Well, of course only if you don't do it the sloppy way, like I did in the first place
You'd need to have MVAMS download the new Installation file, but don't just install "over" the old Version (as it keeps the faulty files in Reallight Folder, still causing reallight initialization errors).
Better cancel the installation at this point, move to the "download" folder in the directory where MVAMS is located and copy the new installation file to a safe place. Then uninstall your previous version (I always do a restart of my system after that) and then use the new installer.
Happy flying!

Re: RealLight Initialization Error
With the PC6 you have to use control panel > programs & features to uninstallI removed all effected planes from the sim
If you just delete the folders it's possible you could have registry problems on re-install.

Re: RealLight Initialization Error
Just bought the 737-200C today, hope to use it in P3Dv4.5 + but got the many pop up messages like a previous posting for RealLight Initialization Error. looked for the 0.bmp / -0.bmp files in the texture folder and removed them I guess. Attempted complete installation removal and reinstallation including not selecting RealLight but seemed to be in the 737-200C folder anyway. Would love to get his running in P3Dv4.5 +. Any idea when it will be fixed or something else that can be done to get it working? Did the install in FSXSE standalone but like MILVIZ plan on the go to program 64bit +++ P3D as my normal FS program. Other MILVIZ add-on's working fine in P3Dv4.5. Thanks!

Re: RealLight Initialization Error
For the 737, it isn’t _0.bmp. It is a bunch of Thumbs SQLite files that should be deleted, and 2 $Int_TG textures in the plt_g texture group.

Re: RealLight Initialization Error
Also having this issue on the T-38C.. Followed the directions and removed the _0.bmp, and now instead of getting like 25 error messages I only get 19 and lights still do not work. Is there a fix yet??? Would like to fly this thing at night...

The T-38C was fixed in an update [190712]. What version are you running?

Re: RealLight Initialization Error
I got 190514 when I purchased it on 7/26 from FS Pilotshop. i guess i have to get the updated installer for 190712 from them, but the site doesn't seem to be working at the moment. Will try later, thx!
