Not quite the file I was looking for. It is a .cfg file, located in your user\appdata\roaming\Microsoft\FSX(or FSX-SE).

Close. That's the backup. Since you have extensions hidden, it will likely show up as just a straight fsx

Perfect. Make a copy of your current fsx cfg, and try using this one. Let me know if you get the popup messages asking if you want to let the various dlls run.

I installed the fsx cfg you sent. Restarted and loaded FSX and there were no popup messages about running dlls or anything. Everything is unchanged.
I did noticed something yesterday. While the F-4J models will load but not function properly, the F-4S models don't even load. I just hadn't tested the S models since adding the dll file to FSX gauges. I went back and reinstalled the file you provided for the main gauges folder for the S model but it still doesn't work.

Try this: https://www.microsoft.com/en-za/downloa ... px?id=8109

When you first run it, it will ask you to unzip to a temporary folder. Do so, then go to that folder and run dxsetup.exe.

Okay I did this. Do I need to do anything with all of the cabinet files or dll files?
I did install the program I didn’t see any changes however.
I have recently seen a DirectX window pop-up a couple of times.

It was jus the dxsetup.exe that you had to run. You can delete the temporary folder once that is done.

Since it hasn't fixed things though....
Please try running FSX and loading the F-4, then closing it, and going to the start menu->Search->Event Viewer->Windows Logs->Application and see if there are any errors involving the F-4 or fsx. If there are, please copy the text and post it here.

This is what I got with the F-4 J then the F-4S. First I loaded the F-4J and it's there but no audio and only some switches and control surfaces move, Stick and throttle are frozen but the pedals move. I shut down FSX checked the event viewer and the only error was the "Event 35". I then relaunched FSX and attempted to load the F-4S, after I push the "Fly Now" button the model doesn't load and FSX shuts down. I went back to the event viewer and it had a new error listed as "Event 1000". Thank you for your help,

This is getting a bit beyond me. Would you be up for a team viewer session sometime this weekend? Any time on Sunday or after 1700UTC on Saturday?

That would be great! Sunday is fine. I live in Seattle, US Pacific time (UTC-8). What time works best?
