Carrier Launch Extend Front Strut not working

Post by peaterbb » Tue Jul 07, 2020 3:06 pm

I am having a problem with the extending of the front strut for carrier launch. This is in both P3Dv4.5 and FSX Steam sims
All set up on the catapult . flaps extended as well as wings . Shift U to extend the front strut , no response . Shift I works as does the Launch (Shift spacebar ) . Done all the usual things ,reinstall etc. but no luck .
Any help would be appreciated.
Also Having problem with the release of parking brake . Seems to be a matter of multiple Control + "." presses and even then sometimes it does not release at all and I have to abort the flight .
Thank you

Not sure what would prevent the launch bar from extending other than you aren't near the catapult.

CTRL+ . is to set parking brake and just "." to release it.

Don't use the keyboard keys for parking brake. Use the Chocks from the loadout popup instead.

Unselecting chocks from the popup panel don't release parking brakes if default flight was saved with them enabled, in that case you need to fast press park-brakes (key) and brakes (key or pedals).
Once in position press launch bar key then TO assist arm/disarm, only then the cables appear.

It's strange that you don't see the animation.

Have solved the Parking brake issue .
Have downloaded new install and installed the aircraft again And the same issue with the front strut not extending for launch.
Is it something to do with the carriers I use . I have the SWS carriers and also their Phantom which works perfectly.
Dont know where to go now .
Is there a clickable action in the cockpit that extends the strut .If so where is it located .
Desperately seeking solution

Not to my knowledge. I think it is based on the keyboard command for the default sim event.

Is there Somewhere in the installation that is accessible where I can check the command format and if so what should it look like .
I have the problem in FSX Steam and P3Dv4.5.
It has never worked since I first installed The Phantom in Dec 2017 . I have done numerous new installs to no avail . I just would like to do carrier ops with the Milvz Phantom.
Thanks

That would be in your FSX/P3D controls menu, not the MVAMS.

I have the SWS carriers ...
I was never able to get them work with any aircraft, they caused multiple dll related ctd's so it was impossible to test different configurations with the "ACA", after months I'm still waiting for an update...
It's better if you try first with the fully working Javier Nimitz class. ;)
