Dear Milviz,

I just bought the DHC-3T Turbo Otter. Disabled all virus scanners and firewalls during download and installation.
During installation the installer recognized only FSX (CD), whereas I have FSX:SE. I selected FSX (CD) and continued with the installation, which seemed to go just fine.

After installation the Milviz addon management system for the DHC-3T crashed as soon as I tried to change the loading (selecting passengers). Other settings could be changed successfully. Repeatable topic, also after restarting my PC.

After selection of the DHC-3T in FSX:SE the sim immediately froze and after about a minute it crashed. I tried this several times. Other Milviz planes (e.g. the DHC-2) do not create any problem whatsoever.

I also only had the option for CD FSX instead of Steam. And there is only steam on my pc.
trying to load the otter in FSX will cause fsx to crash with anything other then current condition.
and to get the otter to load I had to load in with default caravan first.
And I get an error about the weather radar is from wrong version.

I have none of these issues with the beaver or otter.

But when I did get flying it was super fun.

We will need to undertake a review of that problem , its the first its been encountered and shouldn't take long to iron out

When the installer is run Its supposed to install and operate in that environment with the FSX checkbox , the terminology ( CD ) is a naming issue only as the directories are the same , what isn't there is the WX option needed ,
The SE version WX is attached .

I would appreciate an event viewer error report to determine what was the module that faulted , also assure that the XML tools installer is run.

Also when setting the checkbox for FSX (CD), the installer asks for the path to the FSX folder, which I entered (i.e. to the FSX:SE directory) manually. I have done this numerous times for other installations, so I am sure no mistake was made.

I tried several times without success. I will install again and look for an event viewer. To be continued. Thanks for your quick response.

My download and installation went fine, FSX(A) CD. But I'm having the same problem Henry is. Selecting any loading option other than default crashes MVAMS. Shortly after selecting the aircraft within the sim in any other than the default state, and sometimes even then causes FSX to crash.

Hello Re MVAMS Loading option, is this the Aircraft state IE: cold and dark , its passenger & cargo load or the type of navigation equipment that crashes FSX?.

Has a flight been set up in the free flight window ? if the turbine is loaded with a saved flight from a piston aircraft there are some FS issues that can ensue with fuel and engine parameters being loaded from the previous aircraft.

Thanks for the help. I tried to install without selecting anything in the checkbox. The installer only installed the MVAMS. Nothing was installed into the FSX directory that I browsed too.
Gave it installer another go using the CD FSX option a go. Installer ran as admin, and AV turned off. Again the aircraft crashed FSX, after loading into a flight using the cold and dark option. In pax, and cargo config.

The only way I can get the airplane to load is in current condition option.

lastly, with the GTN750+650+WX selected there is no WX guage in the plane. It's there with the default GPS+WX.

Try loading from the free flight menu and set up a flight from there and let me know if it still CTD's once you set up and save .

Thanks for that tidbit , it localizes the issue outside the MVAMS , re the panel option , are the contents of the panel.cfg being updated when you select an option IE: it has a 750 unit listed in it or datestamp isn't updated when you hit save ?, last in event viewer what is listed as a faulting module?

I always tried setting up a flight from the free flight menu. I immediately get a CTD as soon as the DHC-3T loads.

Could I somehow send you a fsx_crash.mdmp file? Unfortunately I cannot attach it here.

When I use current condition status: no CTD

Just a question:
How does your Current Conditions load?
-Is the engine running or off?
-If running, can you shut it off and start again?

Engines are running. I can shut them off and start again without a problem.

Apart from the problems I reported, this is really a magnificent plane. Wonderful handling and gorgeous inner and outer visuals.

I just observe that some DHC-3T effect files are installed in the FSX root directory instead of in the effects subdirectory. Could this cause problems?

Interesting observation about effects , that wont cause a crash but they are not supposed to go there , also Henry you forgot to attach the file to the Email
