Big Bear Lake Airport Not found

Post by sharpless281 » Thu Mar 25, 2021 2:00 am

The other day with the King Air and now this one I would put in L35 for Big Bear Lake. this was not in the database. I put in KL35 and that worked. This is a workaround and as long as it works ok, I use L35 in other aircrafts with a FMC so just bringing it out in case someone else goes to a small airport

Typical with FMS aircraft...even other vendors.

You might have something there, I might be confusing this with the Garmin stuff

Most of this equipment is looking for a 4 digit ICAO code. I've often wondered if it is like this in real life.

I think we are looking at the Navigraph database here. There is no issue on Milviz side in tuatcregard. But I thought, that you can add a custom airports in the PL21 can’t you?

So maybe add big bear that way.

The ICAO is L35, but KL35 works as any other airports with just 3 characters. It was just unexpected. It may be the equipment and that is how it works because the Garmin accepts L35 as Big Bear Lake, I never tried KL35 in the G1000 but I suspect it would work
