F-86 Not Working

Post by j3piper » Wed Dec 27, 2017 10:07 pm

Does your system meet the sims requirements?: YES
Did you temporarily disable your anti-virus program during the download process?: YES
Before installing did you disable UAC. (User Account Control)?: YES
Did you install, and are you running the sim as an admin?: YES
Before running the sim did you make sure the FSX/P3D directory is off limits to any AV scanning?: YES
Does your system have the required distributables?: YES
Is your video card DX11 compatible?: YES
If applicable, did disable any FSX to P3D migration tools (like Estonia) before running the sim?: YES
Are you using an aircraft other than a Milviz one as your default aircraft?: YES
Do you have the appropriate SimConnect libraries installed?: YES

Aircraft:
Sim platform: FSX: Steam Edition
Operating system: Win7
Version: 6.1

The F-86 is in fsx aircraft files and you can bring up the plane ready to fly, but you cannot bring up the control panel and none of the switches or throttle will work. I followed all the instruction for installing it and have uninstalled it and tried again and even did another download but still it will not work.

Sounds like a missing library. More than likely the simconnect library since you are using FSX SE. The F-86 requires the FSX SP2/Acceleration pack simconnect in addition to the FSX SE Simconnect. Go to your FSX SE directory\SDK\Core Utilities Kit\SimConnect SDK\LegacyInterfaces\FSX-XPACK and run the SimConnect.msi found there.

I followed these instruction and still no luck. I removed the aircraft and reinstalled it and I still cannot get any panel to popup so I can configure the plane.

Ok next step is to verify if there is some other library missing.

Please download and install this into a location of your choice: http://www.dependencywalker.com/depends22_x86.zip

Then, go to your F-86 panel folder and drag and drop the Milviz_f86.dll into Dependency walker.

Collapse the lists in the area outlined in red in the below screenshot so that you only see + marks like the screenshot shows. Then take a screenshot and post it here.

Yep that's it. Ok so a missing library is not the problem. Since you are running FSX SE, I suspect the dlls weren't approved. Please zip and post your fsx_se.cfg.

The only fsx config I can find is fsx.CFG. Where would I find the one you need?

It would be that one: fsx.cfg
