Vertical Speed not setting right [Answered]
I set up a flight plan , then setup auto pilot before take off.
I set the altitue. push nav, then push VS and set my climb rate at 1500fpm
When I enage auto pilot after take off everything works expect the VS is changed to 2600fpm which is too much
My work around is set it at 400fpm so when AP is engaged it will be close to 1500
KA 350 P3D 5.2 HF1 (not older P3D did the same thing) Anyone else seeing this

Re: Vertical Speed not setting right
Hi,
Tomas
I hope everyone as it is the way it works (in real also). When you engage the AP the current vertical mode automatically takes the aircraft's current pitch/vertical speed, no matter what was the value previoulsy set.

Re: Vertical Speed not setting right
ok thanks, that is what it did. I set pitch to 1000 fmp and engaged the AP and it set at 1000 and I was able to adjust it as needed

It's recommended to climb in FLC mode and not VS, but as long as you are watching your airspeed and adjusting power in the climb go for it.

Re: Vertical Speed not setting right
I know but still having trouble getting that to work. What I am doing is set the IAS to say 180 and set my altitude to say 12000. When I take off I climb and set the speed to 180, then push flight level change. Is that correct?
Update I did get it to work doing that

Re: Vertical Speed not setting right [Answered]
Now that I am using FLC, it would be easier if we could assign a action to Triger the FLC from a button. I tried the command in MSFS called Flight Level Change but that did not work, not surprised. Is there a custom variable I can set up that would trigger the FLC
