FSX crashes FSX when loading B407
Hello,
I recently purchased the B407 for FSX Acceleration (Windows 10). I haven't able to get it running yet.
When I load up the aircraft, I get the normal screen initially (attachment Heli 1).
After I click "Fly now" the normal countdown starts (Heli 2). So far so good. But when the countdown reaches 100%, the screen just goes black, sits there for about 30 seconds, and then FSX crashes. No further error messages, it just quits.
This happens consistently:
- whether you load a default aircraft first or selecting the B407 directly
- regardless of which model of the B407 is chosen
- regardless of whether DirectX10 Preview is enabled or not
I hope you can help. I'll gladly submit additional info if you want. BTW I tried starting a ticket but I get the message shown in attachment Heli 3, and I can't proceed, even though according to the info on your website, my configuration should be able to run the B407 (FSX Acceleration, Windows 10).
Alex

This is common if part of the install did not complete.
Can you confirm:
Did you disable your antivirus during install and/or create an exception to exclude your FSX program folder?
Did you run the installer as an admin? (right click installer/run as admin)
If you open the MVAMS program does the B407 show in that app?

Thanks for your quick response. I couldn't remember with certainty how exactly I had installed, so I uninstalled the MV407, and re-installed keeping your pointers in mind: viruscheck disabled, and run as administrator.
Unfortunately the result is the same.
The 407 DOES show up in the MVAMS screen.

Re: FSX crashes FSX when loading B407
Thanks for reinstalling and eliminating that possibility.
We need to take a look at your crash logs and see what the source of the crash is:
Hit the Windows 10 start button and type in Event viewer, open that program.
On the left side of the screen under "Windows Logs" click on Application.
in the list you will have any programs that are malfunctioning or have crashed: You can disregard all of the informations and warnings , what we are looking for will have a red icon next to it and will most likely be related to FSX.
Please check these and tell me what the errors are , a screen shot would be great. Also you can select the crash and copy the text from it by hightlighting it and hitting control+C and then past it into a post here (control+V).

Since I see ai_player.dll mentioned, I should add that all my AI traffic sliders are set to zero, since I only fly on Vatsim.

Something in that ai player is causing a crash.
I don't know if that is a vatsim thing but it isn't from our product.
.dll's can override your FSX settings. Maybe do a windows search on that file and add a .bak to the end of the filename to temporarily disable it to see if your crash is resolved.
