Engine Fire - what do I wrong?
Hello,
I need some assistance to manage the T38.
We have winter currently in Germany and I fly with ASP4 real weather.
I always get engine fire on the right engine.
Diggin in the POH I see that I'm not allowed to use Afterburner (AB) more than 5 minutes. That was an error I made in the beginning.
I was flying now with AB off and moderate throttle and got also an engine fire (right) after about 20 minutes.
I haven't seen any vibrations or high EGT before.
Do I have to take sth into consideration with Engine Anti Ice on?
What else should I watch when flying in icing conditions? (Do they even cause engine fire in a way?)
(I haven't tested the T38 in summer conditions since the latest ADV update. But haven't had these problems before (when it was summer), so I assume I make some mistakes when flying in bad, icing weather?)
Any tips are appreachiated!
thanks
Günter

Re: Engine Fire - what do I wrong?
What installer version are you using?
The antiice must always be used under icing / poor weather conditions.
If you are flying in real weather conditions (Europe last weeks) surely you are meeting icing conditions. Flying without antiice will cause an engine FOD quite soon, specially if some aggressive manoeuvres are performed (ice detachment)

No. The anti-ice system will only harm aircraft performance. It will never damage the engine.Guenseli wrote: Is engine fire supposed when havin engine anti ice on, but not needed?
